Hey Y'all,
It's Wednesday again your favorite day to dive into trending hydration topics. Today, we're raising our droplet-shaped glasses to… water, because according to Gallup, Americans are drinking less alcohol than they have in nearly 90 years. Yep, you read that right. And guess what? That makes this the perfect moment to shine the spotlight on natural bottled water pure, simple, and beautifully uncomplicated.
Alcohol Consumption Hits a Historic Low
A fresh Gallup poll (conducted July 7–21, 2025) reports that only 54% of U.S. adults now say they drink alcohol—marking the lowest rate since Gallup started tracking it back in 1939 To put it in perspective, that’s a 13-point drop since 2022 and even below another previous low of 55% back in 1958
Fast facts from the latest poll:
-
Just 24% of drinkers had alcohol in the past 24 hours—another record low .
-
The weekly average number of drinks per person is down to 2.8, the lowest since 1996
-
40% of drinkers haven’t had a drink in over a week the highest share in decades .
Why the big shift? It’s all about health concerns. For the first time, a majority 53% now believe that even moderate drinking (think a glass or two a day) is bad for your health, up from just 28% in 2018. Only a tiny 6% still think drinking is beneficial . And mind you, this change in mindset is strongest among young adults only 50% of 18-to-34-year-olds report drinking, down from nearly 60% just in 2023.
